What's left behind the scenes
- The final scene serves as a kind of bridge between this project and Ryan Coogler's sci-fi action film "Black Panther" (2018).
- The plot of each new episode becomes clear right from the beginning.
- Eyes of Wakanda features hand-drawn animation inspired by contemporary African American artists such as Ernie Barnes and Dean Cornwell. The characters' unnatural proportions are inspired by Barnes' work. The miniseries' artist, Craig Elliott, consulted with artists from Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt. The creation of the miniseries was announced in December 2023, which is when the development and design of the characters began. According to director Todd Harris, the project was quite ambitious, as it required showcasing a wide variety of locations across different historical periods.
