Seasons
What's left behind the scenes
- A loose adaptation of the life story of María Mestayer de Echagüe (1877-1949). In 1901, she married a lawyer and soon noticed that he preferred dining at his club rather than at home. De Echagüe began studying cookbooks and reading relevant periodicals; she visited restaurants to uncover recipe details and study the menus. Through her acquaintances with famous chefs, who helped her experiment with various dishes, de Echagüe eventually became a gastronomic writer. Between 1930 and 1947, de Echagüe taught cookery at various Catholic educational institutions and wrote seven cookbooks.
