Short description
Maggie and Alex enjoy a lavish life of privilege as members of one of South Carolina's most powerful legal dynasties. But when their son Paul is involved in a deadly boat crash, the family is faced with a test unlike any they've ever encountered. As details come to light and new challenges emerge, the family's connections to several mysterious deaths raise questions which threaten everything Maggie and Alex hold dear.

What's left behind the scenes
- Preparing for the role of Alex, Jason Clarke gained about 18 kg—largely thanks to his wife, who fed him heartily. He spent about two hours a day in the makeup chair and wore a wig on set. From the very beginning, the actor decided not to use facial prosthetics, realizing that they would make his face look unnatural.
- Gloria Satterfield, the Murdo couple's housekeeper, is primarily shown in the first episodes of the project, in scenes following the motorboat accident. In reality, she passed away in 2018, whereas the motorboat accident occurred only in 2019. Her death became one of the scandals in which the Murdos were involved.
