What's left behind the scenes
- During filming in Los Angeles, traffic was blocked on several streets, and the facades of the houses and shops facing them were redesigned in the style of the 1980s.
- Before filming their scenes, Kaia Gerber and Graham Campbell would recreate a moment from Christopher Guest's mockumentary Waiting for Guffman (1996), where they snapped their fingers and exchanged a special kind of handshake before starting to sing.
- Luca Guadagnino was originally intended to direct the project, but he soon left, and Christopher Borgli took his place. Before the series moved to the FX cable channel, Borgli also left, and Ryan Murphy became one of the directors and writers.
