After losing her job at a physical therapy clinic, Adriana’s life takes a devastating turn when a flood destroys her home and claims the life of her husband, Carlos. Left with nowhere to go and a family depending on her, she accepts a job working for the powerful Brandão family in São Paulo as the caretaker of Artur, their difficult and ill-tempered patriarch. Despite his reputation for scaring off every caregiver hired before her, Adriana slowly earns Artur’s trust, while facing constant judgment and suspicion from the rest of the family.
