Short description

Virginia and Tony, a father and daughter living in Manhattan, find themselves in a parallel universe where Snow White, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood are struggling to maintain order. Their kingdoms have been fragmented by trolls, giants and goblins.

What's left behind the scenes

The map of the nine kingdoms is actually a slightly modified map of Europe.
John Larroquette, who played Virginia Anthony's father, also played the role of the giant stepping over a New York bridge in the credits.
During filming, 400 kilometers of film were used.
The film features 600 computer-generated special effects.
4,000 costumes were made and 150 sets were built.
A total of 130 actors and 3,550 extras appeared in the film.
Scenes featuring ancient castles were filmed in France, England, and Austria (in the Alps).
Originally, screenwriter and producer Simon Moore planned for the first season to have a continuation; therefore, at the end of the tenth episode of the first season, Virginia speaks only of the completion of the first book and a forthcoming second crisis in the kingdoms. However, NBC decided to cancel the series due to low ratings, and as a result, the plot remained unfinished.
