What's left behind the scenes
- The Japanese hold the Imperial Navy in great reverence, which is why there are no random or insignificant details in the anime. Each girl bears the name of a real ship from the Japanese Navy (with over 100 characters available in the game), and the role and fate of the prototype are reflected in her appearance and personality. For example, each arrow in Akagi's quiver corresponds to an air squadron from her ship's World War II roster, and Hibiki constantly exclaims "khorosho!" in Russian because her prototype was transferred to the USSR as reparations.
- When they first meet, Sendai doesn't ask Fubuki if she loves the night without reason—in the first half of the 20th century, nighttime was considered ideal for torpedo attacks.
