What's left behind the scenes
- The scenes set in the south of France in Season 1 were filmed on Long Island in January 2017.
- Two pilot episodes of the project were filmed due to the unexpected outcome of the 2016 US presidential election. The authors had considered Hillary Clinton the favorite in the race. Another version was filmed in which Diana Lockhart, played by Christine Baranski, looks at the television screen in astonishment as it is announced that Donald Trump has become the 45th President of the United States.
