What's left behind the scenes
- After Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon agreed to participate in the series, work on the project continued for another 7 years.
- Ryan Murphy saw only Catherine Zeta-Jones, and no one else, in the role of Olivia de Havilland. He personally offered the actress the part.
- The 35th Academy Awards ceremony was filmed at the convention center in Santa Monica, where it actually took place in 1963.
- The house where Bette Davis lived was used as a filming location for Richard Kelly's mystical thriller 'Donnie Darko'.
- In the second season, there were plans to explore the relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana, but this idea was rejected.
