What's left behind the scenes
- Shannen Doherty played Heather Duke in Michael Lehmann's original film 'Heathers' (1988).
- The series premiere was postponed due to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, 2018. The series aired in October 2018.
- The series repeatedly reproduces lines and dialogues from Michael Lehmann's original 1988 film—either verbatim or with minimal changes to fit modern times.
