What's left behind the scenes
- Every transformation of Jennifer Walters into She-Hulk and vice versa was achieved through computer graphics. On set, She-Hulk was played by Maliyah Ayala, and Tatiana Maslany's face was later digitally overlaid onto her image. Maslany is 163 cm tall, while Ayala is 196 cm.
- In the series, Tatiana Maslany's character—Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk—either breaks the so-called 'fourth wall' or addresses the viewers directly, all while knowing she is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both of these nuances played an important role in the 1985 graphic novel and the subsequent comic book series by John Byrne.
- During a meeting with studio executives and showrunners, project director Kat Coiro suggested Patti Guggenheim for one of the roles. Although they had not worked with the actress before, they invited her for a screen test. Her performance was so well-received that the role was immediately cast with her.
