Night Call

Night Call follows Mady, a student who pays his way by working as a locksmith after dark. Called out to let a young woman named Claire into an apartment, he discovers that she misled him about who she is: the address was not hers, and she leaves with something belonging to Yannick, a dangerous man. With Yannick's people treating him as the thief, Mady is drawn into a manhunt and has a single night to track Claire down and clear himself.

The Belgian-French thriller was directed by Michiel Blanchart, who wrote the screenplay with Gilles Marchand. It is his third feature-length directing credit, arriving after L'annonce in 2016 and Ass in 2019. Jonathan Feltre plays Mady, with Natacha Krief as Claire, Romain Duris as Yannick, Jonas Bloquet, Thomas Mustin and Sam Louwyck among the supporting cast. The production, made by Gaumont with VOO, BeTV and France 3 Cinéma, had a budget of roughly five million dollars.

Released in August 2024 and running 97 minutes, the film holds a 6.7 rating on IMDb from around 3,600 votes and a 6.9 on TMDB from 173 votes. A critics' score of 7.2 from 34 reviews places it somewhat above those audience figures.
