Short description
A man named Ray discovers his wife is cheating on him and decides to kill himself. Before he can pull the trigger, he is mistaken for a low-rent hired killer. Desperate for a little respect, and with nothing else to live for, Ray decides to take the job — and soon begins to question whether he made the right choice.

  • The project was initially going to be titled 'Leroy, Texas,' but the director and screenwriter Shane Atkinson changed his mind when it turned out that a town named Leroy actually exists in Texas.
  • Director and screenwriter Shane Atkinson chose John Magaro for the role of Ray, impressed by his performance in Kelly Reichardt’s western “First Cow” (2019).
  • After reviewing the script, John Magaro agreed to participate in the project as an actor and producer, but it took several years to find investors before filming could actually begin.
  • Shane Atkinson’s wife suggested Steve Zahn for the role of Skip.
  • Shane Atkinson was inspired to create the film by writers Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, as well as filmmaker and playwright Martin McDonagh and directors Ethan and Joel Coen.
