The Abandoned

A police officer struggling with personal grief investigates a sequence of brutal killings after a body is discovered in a river. The case involves the murder of an undocumented migrant whose body was found mutilated. While a man who helps immigrants obtain legal paperwork becomes a person of interest, a lack of evidence leads him to conduct his own search for the killer as the situation grows more perilous.

This Taiwanese crime thriller was directed by Tseng Ying-ting, following her 2017 film The Cat in the Closet. The screenplay was co-written by Tseng along with Yang Yi-chien and Lin Pin-jun. The movie stars Janine Chang as Wu Jie and Ethan Juan as Lin You-sheng, with supporting performances by Yu An-shun, Sajee Apiwong, Chloe Xiang, and Chen Wei-min.
