House of Spoils

House of Spoils follows an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant on an isolated country estate, hoping to set aside years of self-doubt and build something of her own. She soon finds herself dealing with a chaotic kitchen, a questionable investor and mounting pressure, while a lingering presence tied to the estate's previous owner seems determined to undermine her. The film is a horror, mystery and thriller set in the United States.

Danielle Krudy and Bridget Savage Cole directed the film and wrote the screenplay, following their earlier feature Blow the Man Down. Their second film together, it was produced by Jason Blum, Greg Gilreath and Lucas Joaquin, with Amazon MGM Studios, Blumhouse Television, Divide / Conquer and Secret Engine behind it. Ariana DeBose leads as the chef, alongside Barbie Ferreira, Arian Moayed, Marton Csokas, Amara Karan and Mikkel Bratt Silset, among a credited cast of 38.

Released in September 2024 and running 101 minutes, the film drew a mixed response. On IMDb it holds 5.1 out of 10 from around 4,400 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 160 votes. A critics' rating of 5 out of 10 from 45 reviews places it close to those audience scores, suggesting a similar level of enthusiasm on both sides.
