MaXXXine

MaXXXine follows Maxine Minx, a survivor of the violence that unfolded in Texas in the previous film, as she arrives in Los Angeles during the mid-1980s. She works in adult films while chasing her real goal: a serious acting career in Hollywood. When she lands a part in a horror movie, an apparent breakthrough, a killer begins targeting young women around her. The investigation into the murders threatens to expose the secrets Maxine has tried to leave behind.

Ti West wrote and directed the film, the twelfth of the thirteen features he has directed in chronological order, arriving after The Farmer's Daughters and before Ebenezer. Mia Goth returns in the lead role, with Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale and Halsey among the main cast, which totals forty-one credited performers and one hundred forty-five credited crew members.

The film was released in July 2024 and runs 103 minutes. Made with a budget of about 10 million dollars, it earned roughly 22 million worldwide, a return well above its cost without being a broad commercial phenomenon. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from around 85,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.3 from about 1,600 votes. A critics' rating of 6.5 from 294 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
