Blood for Dust

Blood for Dust is a crime thriller about a travelling salesman named Cliff who is struggling financially and emotionally. Estranged from his wife and reeling from the loss of his job, he accepts an offer from Ricky, a former colleague who now makes money moving illegal weapons, to run cross-state deliveries for a mid-level cartel figure named John. The arrangement puts Cliff on the same routes he once worked as a salesman, and the work quickly escalates beyond what he expected, leaving him fighting to survive in a trade he was never meant to enter.

Rod Blackhurst directed the film from a screenplay by David Ebeltoft, following his earlier features Night Swim, Here Alone and the documentary Amanda Knox. Scoot McNairy plays Cliff, Kit Harington plays Ricky, and Josh Lucas plays John, with Stephen Dorff, Nora Zehetner and Ethan Suplee among the supporting cast. The production came from BondIt Media Capital, Buffalo 8, Short Porch Pictures and Nickel City Pictures.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.3 from around 2,600 votes, while on TMDB it scores 6 out of 10 from a much smaller pool of roughly 91 votes. The audience response is therefore modest and somewhat divided. It runs 98 minutes.
