Held Hostage in My House

A single mother who rents out her holiday home is attacked and left bound inside the property. Trapped there, she has to work through her own memories and draw on clues left behind by the many guests who have passed through the house in order to identify her attacker and survive. The film is a mystery thriller set largely within the rental property, and its central conflict turns on the woman's attempt to reconstruct what happened to her while she remains confined.

Held Hostage in My House was released in September 2024 and runs 87 minutes. It is the second feature directed by Anna Elizabeth James, following Deadly Illusions in 2021, and she also wrote the screenplay and produces alongside Julie Gause and Paul Luba. Amy Smart plays Dawn van Brocklin, with Billy Zane, Gilles Marini, Greer Grammer, Massi Furlan and Neal Davidson among the main cast; the production credits 53 cast members and 42 crew. It is a Canadian-American co-production involving Dawn's Light, Voltage Pictures, Lifetime and Goldrush Entertainment.

Audience responses to the film are modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 10 from 321 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.7 out of 10 from 21 votes. Both figures point to a limited and largely unenthusiastic reception rather than a widely praised one.
