The Man from Rome

A computer hacker breaches the security of the Pope's personal computer to send an anonymous warning about a 17th-century Baroque church in Seville. The message claims that the crumbling structure kills those who enter to protect its secrets. In response, the Vatican dispatches Father Quart, an experienced agent from the church's intelligence arm, to investigate the mysterious deaths and the strange occurrences surrounding the building. In Seville, Quart encounters local opposition to the church's demolition and discovers a web of corruption and conflicting interests.

This mystery thriller was directed by Sergio Dow, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Adrian Bol and Luis Zelkowicz. The film stars Richard Armitage as Father Quart and Franco Nero as the Pope, with a supporting cast that includes Paul Freeman, Carlos Cuevas, Fionnula Flanagan, and Paul Guilfoyle. A joint production between Spain, Colombia, and the United States, the movie has a runtime of 116 minutes.
