Mona shares a close, interdependent life with her adult son, Joël, who has an intellectual disability. Joël works at a specialized facility where he is in a romantic relationship with a colleague named Océane, who also has a disability. Mona is initially unaware of this connection, but her world is disrupted when she discovers that Océane is pregnant. This revelation creates tension and causes the tight bond between the mother and son to weaken.
