The stories written by Fanny Price are actually stories from the early works of Jane Austen (1755-1817), known collectively as “Juvenilia” (1791-1793).
Johnny Lee Miller, who played Edmund Bertram here, played Charles Price, Fanny’s younger brother, in the first adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel – the BBC television series from 1983.
Julia and Maria Bertram are playing the glass harmonica. In 1761, Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) improved an earlier version of this instrument, making it even more popular.
Hanna Taylor-Gordon and Talia Gordon, who played Fanny and Susan in childhood, are sisters in real life.
