My Spy The Eternal City

In this sequel to My Spy, CIA veteran J.J. is persuaded by Sophie, the girl he once looked after, to join a school choir trip to Italy. Once there, the pair stumble into an international terrorist scheme aimed at the head of the CIA, David Kim, and his son Collin, who is also Sophie's closest friend.

Peter Segal returns to direct, a position he also held on the first film, and shares screenplay credit with Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber. The film follows My Spy in Segal's directing work, arriving after such earlier titles as Second Act. Dave Bautista again plays J.J., and Chloe Coleman again plays Sophie, with Kristen Schaal, Ken Jeong, Anna Faris and Flula Borg among the cast. Bautista and Segal also served as producers.

The film was released in mid-2024 and runs just under two hours. It is a co-production involving Italy, the United States and South Africa. On IMDb it holds a 5.7 rating from around 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 from a much smaller pool of 494 votes. A critics' rating of 4.1 from 39 reviews sits below the audience scores, suggesting a warmer response among viewers than among reviewers, though the overall reception across all measures is modest.
