Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always follows the Rangers as they confront a threat from their past. After a tragedy strikes the team, a young newcomer named Minh Kwan steps into the ranks to help face the group's oldest enemy. The special reunites original cast members, with David Yost returning as Billy Cranston and Walter Jones as Zack Taylor, joined by Steve Cardenas as Rocky DeSantos, Catherine Sutherland as Kat Hillard, and Charlie Kersh as Minh.

Charlie Haskell directed the 55-minute special, his second feature after Toke, from a screenplay by Becca Barnes and Alwyn Dale. It was produced by Simon Bennett and Hillary Zwick Turner and made for release in 2023, involving the Canadian and Japanese production companies Entertainment One and Toei Company. Drawing on the franchise's long-running theme that a Ranger remains a Ranger for life, it was made to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Mighty Morphin era, which began when Zordon assembled the original team.
