Morgan Neville directed this documentary, which follows David Letterman on his first trip to Dublin. There he meets U2's Bono and The Edge in the city where the two musicians grew up, spends time with them, and takes in Dublin through their eyes. The visit builds toward a concert appearance by Letterman alongside the pair, a performance different from what the band ordinarily stages. Alongside the concert material, the film looks at the friendship the two men have shared for decades and at how they write songs, including the origins of some of their best-known hits, drawing on previously unseen footage and interviews. Glen Hansard, photographer Anton Corbijn and producer Jimmy Iovine also appear.
The film runs 84 minutes and was released in March 2023, produced through Imagine Entertainment, Worldwide Pants, Imagine Documentaries and Tremolo Productions, with Neville and Seamus Murphy-Mitchell producing. It sits in a run of music documentaries by Neville that includes 20 Feet from Stardom, Won't You Be My Neighbor? and Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, and was followed later the same year by The Saint of Second Chances, with Piece by Piece, Breakdown: 1975 and several 2026 titles after it.
On TMDB it holds a rating of 7.6 out of 10 from 19 votes, a small sample whose warm average reflects viewers already drawn to U2 and to Letterman.
