j-hope IN THE BOX

j-hope IN THE BOX is a music documentary that follows the artist j-hope over a period of 200 days. The film covers the making of his solo album "Jack in the Box" and the listening party held for it, and it continues through to his performance at the Lollapalooza festival. Alongside studio and behind-the-scenes material from the album's preparation, it shows his day-to-day life during this period and includes the lead-up to his festival stage.

The documentary was directed by Park Jun-soo, whose earlier credits include Burn the Stage: The Movie, Bring the Soul: The Movie, BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage - LA and SUGA: Road to D-DAY, all released before this film. Two further titles, SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' THE MOVIE and JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL, followed in 2024, along with two more in 2025. Woojung Bang and Jiwon Yoon produced. j-hope appears as himself, with Jimin, Jung Kook, RM, Jin and SUGA also credited among the cast of 32.

The film runs 85 minutes and was released on 16 June 2023, produced in Korea by HYBE and Bighit Music. On IMDb it holds a rating of 8.4 out of 10 from around 2,600 votes, a strong score supported by a relatively large number of viewers. On TMDB its rating is 8.3 out of 10 from a small number of votes, consistent with the IMDb figure.
