In a small Southern town, residents become convinced they have seen a flying saucer over a nearby lake, and their panic only grows when the military seals off the area. The local lawman, Sheriff Hall, has little patience for the rumors until he meets a boy who insists he is an alien named H7-25. As the evidence piles up, the sheriff comes to accept the boy's story, and when the army, led by Captain Briggs, tries to take the child, Hall puts himself between the soldiers and his young charge.
This Italian action comedy from 1979 was directed by Michele Lupo, whose filmography in those years also includes They Called Him Bulldozer, Why Did You Pick On Me?, Buddy Goes West and Bomber. Bud Spencer stars as Sheriff Hall, with Raimund Harmstorf as Captain Briggs, Cary Guffey as H7-25, and Joe Bugner, Carlo Reali and Luigi Bonos among the credited cast of twenty-four. Marcello Fondato and Francesco Scardamaglia wrote the screenplay, and Elio Scardamaglia produced.
The film runs 88 minutes and mixes science fiction with broad comedy and fistfights. On IMDb it holds a 6.1 rating from around 4,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.4 from roughly 345 votes, a level of agreement suggesting a modest but durable following for this kind of Italian genre entertainment.
