Die Hart

Die Hart follows Kevin Hart as a version of himself, a comedy actor who wants to be taken seriously as an action star. When a studio turns down his dream role, a chance encounter with a famous action hero draws him into a chaotic chain of events. To prove himself, he enrolls in an action-hero school run by the intensely committed Ron Wilcox, where he trains alongside other students and faces a series of increasingly extreme set pieces. John Travolta plays Wilcox, with Nathalie Emmanuel, Josh Hartnett and Jean Reno among the cast.

The film is directed by Eric Appel, who made Weird: The Al Yankovic Story in 2022 and went on to direct Die Hart 2: Die Harter in 2024 and The Breadwinner in 2026. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad and Tripper Clancy, and HartBeat Productions produced it. It runs 84 minutes and blends action, comedy and thriller elements.
