Jennifer Love Hewitt broke her finger during filming.
Initially, it was planned that Paigе and Max Connors would play Jennifer Aniston and Cher.
Jennifer Love Hewitt was taught the restaurant trick shown by her character by actor and illusionist Ricky Jay. He actually taught Hewitt several card tricks, but she was unable to demonstrate them in the film due to her broken finger.
Work on the film was originally scheduled to begin in 1997. At that time, Alicia Silverstone was confirmed for the role of Paige, and Doug Lyman was to direct, having previously directed 'Swingers' (1996) and later the crime thriller 'Ecstasy' (1999) and other films.
