Silentium

Set in a humid early summer, this Tunisian thriller follows Malek, a solitary woman living on the ground floor of a seaside building. While she spends her days studying Roman mosaics and observing her neighbors, the nights bring distress as she hears violent arguments coming from nearby apartments. These sounds trigger dark memories and convince Malek that a monster resides within the walls, an entity that sends her messages and enters her home in her absence. Her life changes when she befriends a new tenant named Jihène, an event that coincides with the monster finally knocking at her door.

The film was directed by Nidhal Chatta and written by Sophia Haoues. It features a cast including Rym Hayouni in the lead role as Malek, alongside Ahmed Abdelmonaâm Chouayet, Mohamed Dahech, Lamine Belkhodja, Maissa Ouesleti, and Oumaima Bahri. Produced by South by South West Films and 9Prod, the movie has a runtime of 105 minutes.
