The Unheard

Chloe Grayden, a young woman, takes part in an experimental treatment intended to bring back her hearing. After the procedure she returns to her family's former holiday home on Cape Cod, where she starts experiencing sounds that may not be there. The auditory disturbances seem tied to the unresolved disappearance of her mother, and distinguishing real noise from imagined becomes increasingly difficult as she looks into what happened.

The film is a drama, horror and mystery story directed by Jeffrey A. Brown, following his 2020 feature The Beach House as his second directed film. It was written and produced by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen, with Andrew Corkin also producing. Lachlan Watson plays Chloe, alongside Nick Sandow as Hank, Brendan Meyer as Joshua, Michele Hicks as the mother, Shunori Ramanathan as Dr. Lynch and Boyana Balta as Ellen.

Released in March 2023 and running 124 minutes, the film drew modest responses. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.6 from 846 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.1 from 26 votes. A critics' rating of 5.3 from 17 reviews places it close to the audience scores, with none of the three measures indicating a broadly positive reception.
