Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

The war between humanity's Federation and the Arachnids continues in this third entry in the Starship Troopers series, released in 2008. A Federation starship crashes on the remote planet OM-1, leaving Sky Marshal Omar Anoke and a group of survivors, among them pilot Lola Beck, stranded. Colonel Johnny Rico, who fought in the original bug invasion on Planet P, is sent to lead a rescue team of troopers. The mission runs alongside a threat inside the Federation itself, while the stranded crew comes to suspect that something on OM-1 is not as it appears.

Edward Neumeier, who wrote the earlier films in the series, directed and wrote this installment; David Lancaster produced. Casper Van Dien returns as Johnny Rico, joined by Jolene Blalock as Lola Beck, Stephen Hogan as Sky Marshal Anoke, Boris Kodjoe as Gen. Dix Hauser and Amanda Donohoe as Admiral Enolo Phid. Made for a modest 20 million dollars, the film was a direct-to-video production rather than a theatrical release.

Audience response has been weak: on IMDb it holds 4.4 out of 10 from around 26,000 votes, and on TMDB 4.8 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 616 votes. A critics' rating of 4.4 out of 10 from seven reviews places it in line with the audience scores. The credited cast numbers 52 and the crew 112.
