Sons

Eva works as a prison officer and believes in the possibility of change, even running yoga classes for the inmates in her care. Her outlook is tested when Mikkel, a young man linked to a violent episode in her past, is transferred to the facility where she works. Concealing what connects them, she requests a move to his unit, which is the harshest and most dangerous section of the prison. What follows is a psychological drama in which her sense of duty and her wish for revenge pull against each other, and the outcome depends on how far she is willing to go.

Gustav Möller directed and co-wrote the film with Emil Nygaard Albertsen, following his 2018 debut The Guilty. Sidse Babett Knudsen plays Eva, with Sebastian Bull Sarning as Mikkel and Dar Salim, Marina Bouras, Olaf Johannessen and Jacob Lohmann in supporting roles. Lina Flint produced the Danish, French and Swedish co-production, which runs 100 minutes.
