Meet Dave

A spaceship lands in New York City with a crew of tiny aliens aboard, sent to recover a device that could save their dying homeworld. The ship is an exact replica of its human-looking captain, so the visitors navigate the city inside a body that walks and talks like a man while each crew member controls a different part of it. Their search is complicated by the captain's growing attachment to an Earth woman, which conflicts with the crew's mission and the danger the device poses to the planet.

Eddie Murphy plays both the human form, Dave, and the miniature captain in this 2008 science fiction comedy directed by Brian Robbins. The cast includes Elizabeth Banks, Gabrielle Union, Scott Caan, Ed Helms and Kevin Hart. It is the eighth of the nine features Robbins directed according to the records, arriving between Norbit and A Thousand Words, and it was made for a budget of 60 million dollars.
