Conor Sweeney is a workaholic yuppie stuck in a rut, spending his days at the office and his weekends catching up on chores. When his girlfriend Kristina leaves for the weekend, he comes across a television advertisement for a late-night party hotline run by a strange dancing goblin named Frankie Freako. Conor calls the number, and the promise of wild fun turns into an ordeal: small otherworldly creatures arrive and wreck his home, forcing him to fight them off and clean up the mess before Kristina returns.
Frankie Freako is a Canadian comedy-fantasy-horror film written and directed by Steven Kostanski, who also serves as a producer alongside Pasha Patriki and Melanie Murray. It is the seventh feature he directed, following Manborg (2011), Father's Day (2011), The Void (2016), Leprechaun Returns (2018), PG: Psycho Goreman (2020) and V/H/S/94 (2021). Conor Sweeney plays the lead, with Kristy Wordsworth as Kristina, Adam Brooks as Mr. Buechler, and Matthew Kennedy voicing the title character; the voice cast also includes Meredith Sweeney and Rich Evans. The film runs 83 minutes.
Released in October 2024, the film holds a rating of 5.5 out of 10 on IMDb from around 1,800 votes, and 5.3 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller number of votes.
