Aachar & Co

Aachar & Co is a Kannada-language comedy set in Bangalore during the 1960s. It centres on a traditional family whose members try to reconcile the pull of a changing world with the values and customs they grew up with. The story follows the household through the ups and downs of that balancing act, drawing on nostalgia and humour as the family's old ways meet new possibilities.

The film is the directorial debut of Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy, who also plays Suma and co-wrote the screenplay with Kanan Gill. It was produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and Gurudath A Talvar under PRK Productions. The cast includes Anirudh Acharya as Sr Jaggu, Harshil Koushik as Raghunath Aachar, Nisha Hegde as Rukmini, Sonu Venugopal as Chandravati and Trishara as Uma, among twenty credited performers. Running 103 minutes, it was released in India on 28 July 2023. Murthy returned to this story with Aachar & Co - The journey the following year, making it the second title in her filmography.

With its period setting, ensemble family dynamic and light comic tone, the film presents a portrait of a household adapting to modern life without abandoning its roots.
