Amalgam

A visual artist named Helen retreats to a house to focus on a new project. Her isolation ends when her wife, Angela, comes home from a trip. As time passes, Helen suffers from hallucinations and increasing paranoia, leading her to suspect that the woman in her home is an imposter rather than her actual spouse.

This Brazilian drama and mystery was directed by Tiago Lipka, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It is the third film in his career, following The Stranger from 2015 and Anamnesis from 2021. The movie stars Brenda Sodré as Helen and Natalie Fronczak as Angela, with supporting roles played by Jeff Franco, Ana Luísa Caron, and Lipka. The production was a collaboration between GP7 Cinema, Autofac Filmes, Sabará Filmes, and Rasga Filmes. The film has a runtime of 101 minutes.
