What's left behind the scenes

  • Silverado was filmed at the Cook Ranch in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. Painters Ida Random, William A. Elliott, and others were tasked with creating a remote town consisting of approximately 40 buildings. Working under Random's direction, 140 workers constructed, among other things, the "Midnight Star" saloon, a hotel, and a church. Construction took 12 weeks, fitting within the allotted timeframe despite unfavorable weather conditions.
  • A significant portion of scenes featuring Rosanna Arquette was cut from the film during editing, including a storyline involving a romantic relationship with a character played by Kevin Kline. Despite this, her name is listed among the first in the credits.
  • In many outdoor scenes, the characters wear hats with a chin strap. Such straps were widely used, but this fact is usually omitted in Westerns. Their use was necessitated by strong winds reaching speeds of almost 100 km/h.
