My Summer With Irène

Set in Italy in 1997, this drama follows two seventeen-year-old girls, Clara and Irène. Despite their different personalities, the pair forms a close bond and decides to flee their current lives. They travel to a remote island near the coast of Sicily to spend the summer in freedom and escape a reality they wish to leave behind.

The film was directed by Carlo Sironi, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Silvana Tamma. This production follows Sironi's previous film, Sole, which he directed in 2019. The movie stars Noée Abita as Irène and Maria Camilla Brandenburg as Clara, with supporting roles played by Claudio Segaluscio, Gabriele Rollo, Beatrice Puccilli, and Anna di Luzio. It was produced by Giovanni Pompili through a collaboration between Italian and French companies, including RAI Cinema and the CNC.

Since its release in May 2024, the film has received a modest reception from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.1/10 based on 180 votes, while on TMDB, the rating is slightly lower at 5.3/10 from 15 votes.
