My Wife Cries

A crane operator named Thomas is interrupted during a typical day at a construction site by a call from his wife, Carla. She asks him to collect her from a hospital, where he finds her in tears. Carla reveals that she was in a car accident that killed her dancing partner, David, while they were looking at a country house. As Carla attempts to be honest and open about the situation, Thomas becomes increasingly withdrawn, highlighting a growing disconnect and a struggle to find a common language between the couple.

This German-French drama was written and directed by Angela Schanelec, following her 2023 film Music. The movie stars Vladimir Vulević as Thomas and Agathe Bonitzer as Carla, with a supporting cast including Birte Schnöink, Pauline Rebmann, Ben Carter, and Clara Gostynski.
