The Engineer

Set in Israel during the mid-1990s, this action thriller follows the hunt for Yahya Ayyash, a man known as the Engineer who organizes suicide bombings across the country. When a US senator loses his daughter in one of these explosions, the search for the perpetrator intensifies. Etan, a former Mossad agent and interrogation specialist, leads a covert team of mercenaries and agents to track down the elusive target. Along the way, he must find a way to work with Avi, an aggressive hitman hired by the senator, despite their conflicting methods.

The film was directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, marking the second project in a career that includes Mob Town and later works such as Inside Man and Bardejov. The cast features Emile Hirsch as Etan, Robert Davi as Senator Adler, and Angel Bonanni as Avi, with Abeckaser also appearing as Yakov. A co-production between Israel and the United States, the movie was produced by companies including Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment Group.
