A Pain in the Ass

A professional hitman named Ralf Milan travels to Montpellier to assassinate a key witness. While staying at a hotel to carry out his mission, he discovers that his neighbor is a depressed man struggling with the departure of his wife. The hitman's attempts to complete his job are repeatedly disrupted by the neighbor's erratic behavior and suicidal tendencies, forcing the killer into the role of an unwilling savior.

This crime comedy was directed by Édouard Molinaro, following his work on The Seven Deadly Sins, Oscar, and Hibernatus. The film features Lino Ventura as the assassin and Jacques Brel as the troubled neighbor, with supporting roles played by Caroline Cellier and Jean-Pierre Darras. The screenplay was written by Francis Veber.
