This Summer Will End

Kesha returns to his home village after spending time in prison, hoping to start over and lead a quiet existence. His seventeen-year-old brother, Tima, is focused on getting into college. The siblings' lives take a sharp turn when Kesha begins working with a gold-mining crew. After being betrayed by the miners, Kesha steals gold and goes on the run, forcing Tima to join him. The story evolves from a journey between brothers into a thriller set against the nature of Yakutia.

The film was directed by Vladimir Munkuev and Maxim Arbugaev, following their 2024 project Haulout. Vladimir Munkuev also wrote the screenplay. The cast features Yuriy Borisov as Kesha and Makar Khlebnikov as Tima, supported by Dmitriy Podnozov, Aleksandr Mosin, and Vasiliy Shchipitsyn. Produced by companies including KION, Look Film, and mc2, the drama was released in February 2025 with a runtime of 118 minutes.
