After the Fever

After the Fever is a Japanese drama centered on Sanae, a woman who served time in prison for attempting to kill her former partner six years prior. Now married to Kenta, a forest ranger, Sanae struggles to move past her history. Their relationship is strained when the wife of her ex-boyfriend enters their lives, forcing Sanae to confront her lingering feelings and leaving Kenta to deal with the resulting emotional tension.

The film was directed by Akira Yamamoto and represents the first of two listed films in his career. It was written by Lee Na-won and produced by Teruhisa Yamamoto through Bitters End, nekojarashi, and Hizukisha. The main cast features Ai Hashimoto in the role of Sanae, Taiga Nakano as Kenta, and Mai Kiryu as Adachi. The movie has a total runtime of 127 minutes and was released on February 2, 2024.
