The Blue Trail

In a near-future Brazil, the government mandates that elderly citizens move to isolated colonies to ensure the younger population can focus on economic growth. Tereza, a 77-year-old resident of an industrial town, refuses to accept this forced relocation. Instead, she embarks on a rebellious journey through the Amazon rainforest and its rivers to fulfill a final personal dream before her freedom is taken away.

The film was directed by Gabriel Mascaro, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Tibério Azul. This production follows Mascaro's previous works, which include The Beetle KFZ-1348, Housemaids, Neon Bull, and Divine Love. The cast is led by Denise Weinberg as Tereza, alongside Rodrigo Santoro, Miriam Socarrás, Adanilo, Rosa Malagueta, and Clarissa Pinheiro. A total of 34 actors are credited in the production.

The Blue Trail was a joint venture between production companies from several countries, including Brazil, the Netherlands, Mexico, Chile, and the Netherlands Antilles.
