A German construction manager, Lutz, cuts costs by staffing his building site with undocumented laborers. After a fatal accident, a fourteen-year-old Albanian girl, Irsa, arrives looking for her missing father, whose fate is tied to the site. Her persistence unsettles Lutz, who is angling for a role in a lucrative new project. To keep her away, he takes her on a journey of his own choosing, and the two develop a bond shaped by closeness and distance, guilt and responsibility.
