A newly appointed Pope plans a visit to Latin America but discovers the Vatican has no money. A wealthy Mexican woman offers to fund the journey if the Pope attends a celebration in Ciudad Juarez. The woman is actually a drug trafficker, and chaos unfolds when she realizes that a lookalike was sent to Mexico in place of the real Pope.

This comedy was directed by Sylvain Estibal, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Myriam Tekaïa. The film is a joint production from Belgium and France by Novak Prod, Tessalit Productions, and Furyo Films. The cast features Kad Merad as the double, Slim, and Myriam Tekaïa as Françoise, supported by Julia Vignali, Carlo Basabe, Boris Shoemann, and Agustín Ocegueda.
