Breaking Walls

Set in a working-class area on the outskirts of Bilbao, Spain, during the late 1980s, this comedy follows a girls' rhythmic gymnastics team. When the group is given the chance to compete in a tournament in Berlin, the mothers are unable to leave their jobs. Consequently, the responsibility of accompanying the girls on their trip falls to their fathers.

The film was directed by Borja Cobeaga, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Valentina Viso. This project follows his earlier film, One Too Many, which was released in 2005. The movie is a joint production between Spain and Belgium, involving companies such as Movistar+, uMedia, Sayaka Producciones Audiovisuales, and EiTB. It was produced by Alex LaFuente and features a credited cast of 35 people, including Quim Gutiérrez, Juan Diego Botto, Mikel Losada, Iñaki Ardanaz, Laura Weissmahr, and Ramón Barea.
