How to Kill a Judge

Giacomo Solaris is a filmmaker whose latest success is a political thriller about a judge with ties to organized crime who ends up dead. The film stirs up controversy in Palermo, and a real magistrate, Alberto Traini, demands that it be seized. Shortly afterward Traini is murdered in circumstances that mirror the plot of Solaris's movie. As people close to the director begin dying one by one, Solaris sets out to investigate the killings himself and comes to suspect that a larger scheme is being directed against him from somewhere above.

How to Kill a Judge is an Italian crime drama from 1975, directed by Damiano Damiani, who wrote the screenplay with Fulvio Gicca Palli and Enrico Ribulsi. Mario Cecchi Gori produced it, and Franco Nero plays Solaris. Damiani's filmography as a director includes A Bullet for the General in 1967, A Genius, Two Friends, and an Idiot earlier in 1975, this film, and Amityville II: The Possession in 1982.
