Short description
A troubled young man falls for an American military auxiliary in postwar Italy. A year later, he relocates to the American Midwest to write his first novel, next to her elderly mother's house—separated by a grim garden.
What's left behind the scenes
- The final scene of the film was shot in the same location where Roberto Rossellini filmed one of the episodes of his 1946 drama 'Paisan'.
- The house that the main character moves into actually belongs to Pupi Avati (an Italian director, screenwriter, producer, and writer, who served as the director and screenwriter for this project) and his brother Antonio (the producer of this film). In Avati's biographical drama 'Bix' (1991) about the life of American jazz musician Leon 'Bix' Beiderbecke, this was the main character's house.
