What's left behind the scenes
- The director's cut has a runtime of 114 minutes.
- Filming was halted when soundstage 007, built for the James Bond films, burned to the ground. The final scenes had to be completed later on hastily constructed sets.
- A brand in the shape of an 'S' is clearly visible on one of the unicorns' thighs. This is the marking of a Spanish ranch from which the horses were brought.
